A stroll through the city of Bastia: The must-sees

The Old Port

The Old Port, the very heart of Bastia, is a place well worth stopping off at to appreciate its unique charm. Flanked on one side by the imposing Church of Saint John the Baptist and on the other by the Genoese citadel, this iconic spot is best explored on foot. This allows you to soak up the authentic atmosphere and admire the beauty of its traditional architecture.

The Citadel

Perched on its rocky promontory, the citadel charms visitors with its picturesque narrow streets, the colourful houses and its ‘Dolce Vita’ atmosphere. This district in the upper town is home to the Palais des Gouverneurs museum, which traces the history of Bastia and its region. Always a popular spot, it offers an exceptional view of the old harbour and the horizon.
