Results achieved
From the carriers’ perspective:
- Time savings in the freight transport supply chain by avoiding:
- the driver to stop at the shipping company’s ticket office to collect their paper ticket,
- the driver from parking for too long, either in a semi-public area whilst issuing a ticket, or at the GATE whilst undergoing the statutory access checks for the Restricted Access Area.
From the manager’s perspective:
- To improve safety and security at the port site; ;
- To improve the flow of lorries and, consequently, the running of commercial operations; ;
- To optimise the use of central reservation areas, in particular by restricting parking.
